The 'Lighter' Side Of The Force
I believe that. You only see him fly out the window.
There was no proof he actually died, so he could be one of the Jedi who survived through the empireAMP Citrate
George Lucas and Samuel L. Jackson both say he died here (that can always be changed), and wasn't Anakin's assist in the murder part of what powered him up to be a Sith anyway? He was then sent to the Jedi Temple to increase his power. I doubt he would have gained strength in the Dark Side had Mace lived.
These are Jedi and Sith, not Highlander immortals. They don't absorb the others power when killing them. Even if Anakin thought he had helped kill Windu all this did was help contribute to Anakins slide down to the darkside, even if Windu did survive.
"Do what must be done, Lord Vader. Do not hesitate, show no mercy. Only then will you be strong enough in the Dark Side to save Padme." - Darth Sidious (this scene)
It was important that Anakin though that Windu was dead, not that he actually died...
Vitals and Devon are correct. What makes one "strong in the darkside" is your willingness to embrace your hatred and negative emotions, giving you the strength and resolve to forcefully bend the force to your will. Jedi try to surrender themselves to the will of the force by suppressing hate and taking their desires out of the equation. They are but instruments of the force. " let go Luke. Give yourself to the force" " a jedi feels the force flowing through him."
Please just let this particular character die. At some point someone has to stay dead.
Killing force users does impact a user's ablity to influence the force. The fewer users the more influence all remaining users have on the force. It's one of the reasons Sith only run two members as well as why Palpatine wanted the Jedi dead. You don't get more strength but the force has fewer people to command it so it listens more to the one voice it still hears.
If Darth Maul can survive getting cut in half and falling several hundred feet down a shaft, Mace Windu can survive, too.
Bingo! I liked the Clone Wars, but I did not like the fact that Maul lived. Seemed too far of a stretch
I loved the clone wars too! But Darth Maul should've stayed dead. And with his brother being in the cartoon series it made Maul's role redundant.
Alive. Boba Fett kills him as revenge for his fathers death
That's actually a pretty good idea...
Dead. Episode 6- Yoda tells Luke that he is the last remaining Jedi just before he dies.
He came come back as a gray Jedi
If Boba Fett can survive after being eaten by the Sarlacc then Mace Windu can survive falling out of a window lol
i totally agree to you!!
As the electricity was mainly applied on his brain and face area his brain would pretty much be fried, as sidious was not going to relinquish his power until he felt mace life force leave him, as you watch sidious' face as he releases mace out the window, it's satisfaction that mace is dead, yet if he were to survive, someone had to have had great technology and the most wonderful cover to renew his fried brain. However if he was survived it would be a great shock to him, as it is Luke skywalkers council and marriage his allowed, as all Jedi now have families, mace likes having control, even master yoda subtly reproofed him in revenge of the sith, if he were to come back he'd make an interesting complication ;)
I'd love to see anakin and obi wan as their force spirits, that'd be quite cool to see through the movies, maybe not having an opinion on the council, but teaching the masters and Knights, and giving reproof to the younger ones, it'd be awesome to see Ewan McGregor again, hehe :)
Mace Windu Lives (a theory)Here's my theory on Mace living. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Mace_Windu Mace Windu was a master jedi, not a padewan like Anakin was.Yes he lost his arm. Yes he got shocked. Yes he was hurled out a 200 story window. But let's look at facts :http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mj07qh51zPIAs you see in this episode that Disney considers Canon, Mace not only destroyed thousands of super battle droids by himself, he leaps from a valley floor to a mountain top and back with no injuries sustained. This is well over a mile both directions.Anakin leapt from a speeder, fell 30-40 stories onto another speeder by Zam Wessel. How could Mace not do the exact same thing from a shorter distance? He is more trained and powerful than Anakin was.As for Lucas killing him off, read this quote by GL himself about another supposed dead bad ass. "At one point, when Obi-Wan kills Darth Maul, he just fell into the pit. I looked at it and thought this isn't going to work because, if people like him enough, they are going to want him to come back and they're going to assume somehow he gets out of it. So I had to cut him in half to say this guy's gone, he's history, he ain't coming back. I'll come up with another apprentice. The whole issue of having apprentices, poor Darth Sidious trying to replenish his apprentice supply, is one of the main plot points." - Empire Magazine 07/99Maul was never wanted to come back, yet EU brought him back, and, hold your sabbacc cards to this, the Clone Wars brought him back. Which is now Canon and a fact.Maul was sliced in freaking half, blood, guts, intestines, everything was exposed. Mace only lost an arm. Anakin lost an arm and survived. Then he lost three more limbs, got BBQ'd and survived. Luke lost an hand and survived the plummet down 15 stories in cloud city. The other factor. You never see the body of Mace same as Maul after they fell. You did on Luke.Another factor, Samuel L Jackson has clearly stated he wanted to be in next series. While the films are 50 years after Maces supposed death, EU has clearly brought back folks and Jedi from the clone wars era before. http://screenrant.com/star-wars-episode-7-mace-windu-samuel-l-jackson/ This could happen. It would make Mace 80-115 years old, not unreasonable for a human, and with a connection strong in the Force, could keep him alive. Proof is in other individuals like Yoda, Krayt, Plagueis, Chewbacca and others who outlived their generation and over 100 years. So, that's my theory. Will it happen? Doubt it. Could it happen? Possibly. With Star Wars, anything is possible. '
He's alive - he had a near-death experience and now he's just walking the galaxy like Kane from Kung-Fu.
I say alive, Anikin jumped from car at a high height, and lived, Luke fell at cloud city and lived. You can't tell me a Jedi at Maces caliber will not survive.
And he is maybe the father of Finn?
Let's also not forget General Rahm Kota in The Force Unleashed, who survived being blinded by lightsaber and falling from who knows how high out of a space station reentering the atmosphere.
In that case, the Emperor is still alive... o.O
