I really appreciate the work that you did on this as I'm an anal Star Wars fan as well. Star Wars made a huge impact on me as it came out the day before I turned 12 and I've seen it over a dozen times in it's theatrical release. I have noticed all of the work that you've done on this and noticed that you pointed out things that I did not notice. However, I would like to comment on a few things that I've noticed regarding changes during it's initial theatrical run even before it's video release and even the original trilogy sequels.1. You mentioned that during the scene on the Death Star where the Stormtroopers are chasing Han and Chewie the line "Close the blast doors!" is actually said in 1977. It was taken out and put back in at some point. I remember the line was also included on the LP from that year The Story of Star Wars narrated by Roscoe Lee Browne. The only copy that I found is on You Tube and the line is approximately at the 32:17 mark. Here is the You Tube link...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEtZVVe6ENA2. There was also a scene with Darth Vader in the Death Star talking to an Imperial officer that was dropped out also during its initial run and finally included on the blu-ray set as a deleted scene. The scene was used and rerecorded with new dialogue by James Earl Jones for the Star Wars Holiday Special on TV from 1978. I hated that special but loved the Star Wars clips. Here is a link to that scene on You Tube...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BvSDm8w08-I3. I also vividly remember a scene at the beginning of the movie where Princess Leia is captured by the Stormtroopers on the Rebel Blockade Runner where she shoots a Stormtrooper and runs. That scene was edited at some point where she didn't shoot the Stormtrooper and just ran. I can't find a version of this but I have noticed that the original movie was always being revised. It's what George Lucas does. Or did.I hope this helps in some way? I like a lot of the changes over the years. Some I don't. Some I don't understand at all but it's Lucas's baby but overall I see change as a good things.
interesting since I had the Beta version, I got to see number 1, when they are running away. number 3, she shoots the storm trooper what I dont remember if it is before or after giving R2 the message for Obi-Wan
and 2, not sure if that happens on the death star. I think that scene happens before they go and hide in the asteroid where they almost get eaten by the big space worm
"number 3, she shoots the storm trooper what I dont remember if it is before or after giving R2 the message for Obi-Wan"After.
There was originally a bit more to the scene where Biggs runs into Luke. When Garven says to Luke "You'll do alright." the full line is actually "I met your dad when I was a kid. If you're half the pilot he was you'll do alright." I think that random person walking in front of the camera was inserted as a way to edit out the mention of Anakin.
