RUMOR - Hayden Christensen in Star Wars Episode VIII

  1. I'm down. Anakin is the main thread of the saga so it would be a shame to never show him just because of an actor. I think with better writing and direction it could be really cool redemption for the character

  2. Hayden was never a bad actor, he wasn't directed well enough. You can se the same with natalie, samuel, liam and the rest of the cast. An actor had full confidence in the director, and if the director screws things up, you'll get bad to mediocre performancec from the actors.

    1. Yes, you got it. I have seen films with Hayden that were quite impressive. He is a very good actor. Same with Elijah Wood and Lord Of The Rings. His character is overdone. Elijah did some great stuff before those movies. He irritates the hell out of me in LOTR. Hayden has a bit of the same affect to me. But he was not as bad as (what's his name) the boy that played young Anakin in The Phantom Menace

  4. Very good point Kasper. Watched Life as a house when it came out and he really delivered.

  5. I don't hate him as an actor (it's been said plenty how directing and poor lines are at fault for his portrayal)... but I'm hoping he's not in it.

    1) I've never understood why Anakin's force ghost was young. You could make the case that it's showing him at the last point when he was truly "Anakin" instead of "Vader", but what about the redemption at the end of ROTJ? Does that count for nothing?

    2) Drawing attention to the prequels and trying to maintain continuity with them is probably not in the best interest for a franchise trying to move forward. New characters make sense because they are the future of Star Wars. OT characters make sense because they bridge the gap. PT characters would feel forced (no pun intended).

  6. I'm a nice guy, let him do it, maybe he'll have learned to act by then.

  7. Hayden was not a bad actor at all. The script was horrible but if you watch the scenes where he is conflicted and says nothing he makes you believe he is in pain simply by his facial expressions. Like when he was waiting while Mace went to arrest the Emperor. The fight between him and Obi... The anger and hate on his face alone sold it for me. I really wish people would lay off him. I thought he did as well as anyone could do with that scipt
