The 'Lighter' Side Of The Force
They talk so much crap and know nothing about storytelling visually. You guys miss everything about telling a story visually. If you want a better movie then do it yourself.
Aaaaand you miss everything about the fans expecting exceptional storytelling and not substituting "visual candy" for substantive depth in the story arcs and interactions of the characters in every scene.

If we had the rights to Star Wars we probably would make a better film and it would not follow the quick dollar format. I wonder how successful the next movies will be if they keep this up. This film made money based on the hype not the actual film.
all these things bugged me too! Didn't ruin the film for me but just feels wrong when so much time must have been spent on planning these films.
Gotta love the Star Wars fans that are so intense they criticize anything.
I agree. I'm a Star Wars fan but I just don't get the whining that comes from so many fans. Why don't we just go back to the old way and 1983 ended the series????? Nothing after that. That's how I grew up. That way, nothing can disappoint us anymore. Nothing can hurt our "perfect" trilogy (that people still whine about). Are there flaws in TFA? Of course, but it's a movie. A movie that made me feel like I did when I was 8 years old and saw ROTJ on the big screen. If you didn't enjoy this, then please don't show up for VIII or IX.
The film has great acting, great new characters but the plot is the same as the first film. I didn't need to see that film retold, I've seen hundreds of times. As for Snoke it's clearly a wizard of OZ thing. That holograph is masking a major character. Just as ESB had it's big reveal. I think the reveal about Snoke is he is Leia hiding behind a holographic mask.
I dont know why anyone doesnt get it. She learned of all these Jedi ways when Kylo awakens the force within her. She read his mind and probably saw all these Jedi teachings , and also saw his obsession with Darth Vader without her previously knowing.
I thought the same thing. Makes sense to me.
Expectation is the problem in and of itself.... Having expectations for the movie or anything for that matter is on us and our opinion is just that... Our opinion! J.J. And company took an idea, made it into a story/movie and simply put, told it the way he saw fit. It would have been a disaster trying to please everyone and their expectations.... My hat is off to the entire crew for what they have given us!! Personally, I loved the movie.
First of all, sorry about my english so that I'm from Spain. I really don't know what were everybody expecting. I went to the cinema with my 9 years old daughter, and I was all the movie studying her faces, her reactions....we were Kids when we saw starwars for the first time, and I felt the same watching TFA. J.J. just read what is starwars made of. Adventure, humour, good and evil, and that's what I saw in TFA. If you want an adult revisión of SW universe, just try Ep. I, II and III.Pffffffff.Great experience, great "back in time " moments, and new 9 years fan added to the SW saga.
Anakin was a little 8 year old boy who was using the force without any training. Luke blew up the death star using the force to help, with only a couple of minutes with Obi Wan... Every time that I've heard this brought up, I have to think that the people haven't seen the previous films. You should check them out. They're pretty good, not as good as episode 7, but pretty good.
